Prasad Kapila, Head of Alexa International Tech

Prasad Kapila is the Head of Alexa International Tech at Amazon, leading a global organisation across engineering, product, applied science, and quality for Alexa+. Prasad’s organisation builds AI and engineering systems that enable Alexa+ to work across languages, cultures, and countries—spanning multilingual and agentic AI, speech, post-training, tool use, evaluation, and AI reliability at a global scale. Prasad's work focuses on turning advances in generative AI into reliable Alexa+ experiences for customers around the world. During more than 15 years at Amazon, Prasad has held leadership roles across Alexa and Amazon Business. He previously led the Alexa Developer Platform, helping build and scale the Alexa skills ecosystem and the technologies that enabled developers to create conversational experiences for Alexa customers worldwide. Earlier, Prasad was also a founding member of Amazon Business, where he led product and engineering for core platform capabilities and partner APIs. Prior to joining Amazon, Prasad spent more than a decade at Kenexa, later acquired by IBM, building and scaling enterprise software and technology platforms.Prasad holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering from Acharya Nagarjuna University.
