India's most popular crime thriller is heading to cinemas. Mirzapur: The Movie will release nationwide on 4 September, bringing the world of Mirzapur to the big screen for the first time.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, the film features Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the compounder in the series, also returns for the film.

From streaming to the big screen

The theatrical release follows the success of Mirzapur Season 3, which reinforced the franchise's position as one of India's most-watched series. Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment are expanding the award-winning crime thriller beyond streaming with this cinematic adaptation.

The film is produced by Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, who have been behind the series since its debut.
