You may know her as the anxious Suchi from The Family Man, or the woman from Chennai Express who got the whole nation grooving to One Two Three Four (Get On The Dance Floor), or the distinguished actress of notable titles across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries.

The vivacious Priyamani took us behind the scenes of the recently released Amazon Prime Video film, Narappa – an action-centric family drama and Telugu adaptation of the Tamil super hit movie, Asuran – that follows the journey of a humble farmer on a quest to protect his family.

Priyamani got candid with host Bhumika Shah, PR Manager, Amazon Devices and Alexa, as she answered questions that ranged from the prep she did for her role of ‘Sundaramma’ in Narappa, to how she spent time during wave one and two of the COVID-19 pandemic, her journey from print model to actor, gender parity in the film industry, shooting post-pandemic and lots more.

One lucky Amazon employee, Murahari Vaggu, won a live employee contest and got to virtually meet Priyamani to ask her his question face to face! “The film beautifully portrays the discrimination that existed in India and still exists in some areas of the country. What message would you give to audiences to reduce inequalities in society?” asked Murahari, to which Priyamani responded, “We as actors have a responsibility to shed light on certain issues through the characters we play. Through our films, if audiences can become aware then that message is one step towards bringing about a change.”

This insightful question was followed by a fun-filled Rapid Fire round with Priyamani bringing on the heat with her witty responses. Priyamani closed the event with a special ‘thank you’ message for our Delivery Associates who have served as our frontline warriors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A big thank you to Priyamani for joining thousands of excited Amazonians and sharing her story!
