Transforming the way Indians consume entertainment, Amazon announced the launch of a new on-demand video streaming subscription service - Fire TV Hotspot in select areas in Mumbai. As part of this all-inclusive subscription service, Amazon will provide customers with a Fire TV Stick to access thousands of OTT apps on their TVs, as well as Amazon Prime membership at no extra cost. The Fire TV Hotspot service will also come bundled with a Wi-Fi internet connection for the Fire TV Stick and other devices like mobiles, laptops etc., powered by an internet service provider (ISP) partner. Customers can now enjoy nearly unlimited hours of curated movies, TV shows, originals, web series, music, news, educational, devotional, health & wellness content, and much more from the comfort of their homes without having to worry about internet speeds, data limits, or upgrading to a smart TV.

Fire TV Hotspot has been designed to provide an affordable subscription service for customers who would love to watch their favorite online content on their TVs but have found it costly or complicated to separately manage multiple streaming devices, multiple content subscriptions, and internet connectivity. With pocket-friendly subscription plans, Fire TV Hotspot customers can watch nearly unlimited on-demand content provided by thousands of OTT apps available on the Fire TV platform, including popular apps like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, Voot, Zee5, SonyLIV, etc. directly on their existing televisions. In addition to the Prime Video subscription which is already included in the FireTV Hotspot subscription, customers also have the option to watch premium content from other OTT apps by paying separately for these subscriptions.

Interested customers can simply call the hotline (022 - 6187 4100) or visit the website and register for a free in-home demo at their convenience. First time Fire TV Hotspot customers can enjoy a 3-month welcome offer, including in-home installation with a guaranteed ‘cashback’ in case they wish to discontinue the service subsequently.

Commenting on the launch, Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Director, Connectivity Solutions Group, Amazon India said, “With families spending more time together at home during these unprecedented times, the demand for online content has only increased. With Fire TV Hotspot, we are innovating on behalf of our customers and aim to create a plug-and-play solution for them, without them having to worry about buying a smart TV, managing multiple devices, or internet bandwidth issues. We are thrilled to launch this service for our customers and can’t wait to hear their feedback.”

Amazon has partnered with Orange Waves Networks Private Limited that will provide the necessary internet connectivity as part of the Fire TV Hotspot subscription. At launch, Fire TV Hotspot service will be available in select areas across Mumbai with plans to expand coverage within the city in the future. For more information, visit www.amazon.in/firetvhotspot.
