Rajahmundry or Rajamahendravaram is believed to the birthplace of Telugu language and the cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh. One of India’s oldest cities, Rajahmundry also boasts of alluring landscapes, ancient temples, and the Godavari river. The city also sees a high participation of women in the workforce, a key factor in it being chosen as the site for Amazon’s newest and the largest all-women partner Delivery Station in India.

Speaking about the launch of the all-women partner delivery station, Dr Karuna Shankar Pande, Director, Amazon Logistics, India, said, “At Amazon India, we are committed to providing women with equal access to work, growth opportunities, and resources that help them broaden their horizon."

The launch of India’s largest all-women delivery station in Andhra Pradesh reiterates our commitment to invest and create opportunities for women in the state. As Amazon India continues to expand its reach in Andhra Pradesh, the women working at this all-women partner delivery station will serve as an inspiration to many more.

The newly launched station in Rajahmundry is Amazon’s seventh women-only Partner Delivery station in the country. It’s also Amazon’s second such delivery station in Andhra Pradesh, which will provide job opportunities to close to 50 women from the region as Amazon gets ready for the festive season.

10 km radius
This station will help deliver Amazon packages to customers in 10 km radius, in neighboring areas like Morampudi, Lalacheruvu, Danavaipeta, Prakash Nagar, Tilak road, and among others. Madhavi Nagalla, a delivery associate at the station and a former kick-boxing champion and certified kick-boxing trainer, said, “There are two instances in life when I have been proud of myself – the first was when I won the National Kung-Fun championship for the first time and second was when I started delivering for Amazon at the most crucial juncture in my life."

In order to create a safe workplace for women, several feedback mechanisms have been introduced, along with a dedicated helpline number for associates to dial for any support needed during the day.

Delivering for Amazon as part of all-women station in Rajahmundary is one of the best decisions that has positively changed my life. I have now been able to support my family financially and help manage the expenses of the family. I want to continue playing Kung-Fu and bring glory to my country one day.

The Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program is a last-mile delivery model where Amazon India partners with Small and Mid-sized Businesses (SMBs) in the hinterlands of the country to deliver packages to Amazon customers. For many partners, this program is their first entrepreneurial venture. They leverage their local knowledge of the community and the technological support offered by Amazon India to seamlessly fulfill delivery promises to customers.
