Banik’s journey with Amazon's trucking program has not only transformed his family business but has also left an indelible mark on the region’s transportation landscape.
Expanding transportation business to 13 cities
It was in 2006 that Banik joined his father’s trucking business. Recognising the potential to serve the growing online retail sector, he began collaborating with several e-commerce companies in 2015. However, the turning point came in 2019, when Banik joined Amazon's trucking partner program. Starting with a modest fleet of 50 trucks and 60 drivers, his venture has now expanded into
over 200 trucks and 250 drivers.
Banik's trust in Amazon spurred him on to establish three set routes covering the entire Northeast region, navigating through 13 cities such as Guwahati, Tinsukia, Shillong and Kohima.

This initiative has created opportunities that has significantly contributed to the expansion of my business”, says Banik.
Accident insurance and health check-ups for drivers
Navigating through Northeast India presents unique challenges, including landslides and heavy monsoons. However, Amarnath and his team overcame these obstacles with skilled drivers and local ties, besides a robust contingency plan. Even during peak season or shopping events like Prime Day and Great Indian Festival, his team ensures driver safety with backup routes. The drivers of his fleet have accident insurance and receive regular health check-ups.
